Dr. Jaime de Melo | ND
Dr. Jaime de Melo is a Naturopathic Physician and Educator in Victoria, British Columbia. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Jaime is passionate about education. He thoroughly enjoys answering patient questions and helping to empower them to make positive and healthy decisions. In his general family practice he often treats patients with musculoskeletal concerns, respiratory illnesses, digestive problems, and metabolic diseases. You can learn more about his private practice at Acacia Integrative Health. He is the CEO and co-founder of Evolve Medical, a Telehealth and coaching program that focuses on the prevention, treatment and reversal of prediabetes, and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a faculty member at the Pacific Rim College campus in Victoria, BC, Dr. Jaime teaches courses in Anatomy and Physiology, and Pharmacology. He is an engaging lecturer who enjoys creating dynamic and interactive lectures that blend academic and practical information together. While still a student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine he worked for the research department there and subsequently for the University of Toronto Institute for Work and Health. His published research is in the area of botanical medicine with a focus on reporting quality guidelines. Dr. Jaime is an advocate for accessible integrative care. He is currently a supervisor for the Family Naturopathic Clinic, a teaching clinic providing free Naturopathic care to low income families. Dr. Jaime is a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and is registered with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia.
Course description
Have you ever wanted to know how to interpret you or your clients’ lab tests? This course provides an in-depth exploration of lab test interpretation through a holistic lens, designed for healthcare practitioners, nutritionists, wellness professionals, and health enthusiasts. Participants will gain comprehensive insights into blood panels, hormone testing, and functional lab work including breath, saliva, urine, and stool tests – integrating conventional medical insights with complementary approaches.
Through a systematic framework, you’ll learn how lab data reflects the body’s physiological functions, helping identify imbalances, deficiencies, and potential health risks. With an emphasis on recognizing patterns within lab results, students will develop skills to guide deeper health evaluations.
Through real-world case studies and interactive learning, you’ll gain the confidence to interpret lab results across various testing modalities. By course completion, participants will be equipped to make informed observations and connect lab findings to overall health status.
