Sarada Dhupati | AWP, CPSY

Sarada is an Ayurvedic wellness practitioner, a counselling psychologist, and a certified yoga teacher. She has 17 years of experience teaching yoga and Ayurveda wellness in India, the USA, and Canada.  She grew up in India and has been drawn to yoga and Ayurveda since her childhood as she was inspired by her grandfather, an Ayurvedic doctor. This physical and spiritual practice has been woven in throughout her life ever since. She has learned many different styles from multiple teachers. She believes yoga and Ayurveda are great instruments of union, balance, and joy and her passion is to teach Ayurveda as a way of life.

Course description

You are not just what you eat, you are what you digest.

Learn about the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and its application to cuisine, focusing on digestive fire (Agni) and the six tastes (Shad Rasa). Study ten classic spices and their therapeutic properties, and understand how they affect your unique constitution. Examine key Ayurvedic concepts and their influence on your well-being, including how they promote balance, vitality, and overall wellness.

By integrating key Ayurvedic concepts into your daily life, you can enhance your relationship with food and your overall wellness. Sarada will discuss important principles such as:

  • Rasa: The tastes and their effects on the body and mind
  • Guna: The qualities of foods and how they influence your constitution
  • Veerya: The heating or cooling potency of foods
  • Vipaka: The post-digestive effect of foods
  • Prabhava: The unique, sometimes unexplainable effects of certain herbs and foods
