The aorta is more superficial at CV14 and CV15. CV24 is close to the carotid arteries.
And, yes – the manual for the TDP lamp (where the exam gets its info from) says that the lamp should not be used at all during pregnancy:
Not to be used:
Where a pacemaker or hearing aid is present as it may interfere or decrease their performance
Pregnancy
Insensitive skin or poor circulation/neuropathies
High fever
Directly over eyes
When the body is wet
Anywhere near water
