I searched through the course books and couldn’t find any mention of Scabiosa. In fact, this plant is completely new to me!
I did some research online and found the article linked below. It states, “This study showed that the aerial parts, leaves, roots, stems, and the whole plant parts of S. columbaria are used as colic, love charm and for magical purposes, and as herbal medicine for eye problems, heartburn, respiratory problems, wounds, female infertility, venereal diseases, skin infections, and menstrual problems.”

It was also mentioned in, A Modern Herbal, but this profile is for Scabiosa succisa. This article states, “This plant is still used for its diaphoretic, demulcent and febrifuge properties, the whole herb being collected in September and dried.”
