Hi Michele!

That’s exciting about your red clover harvest :). Red clover contains isoflavones, also called phytoestrogens, which are structurally similar to estrogen, so this herb is often used in premenopause and menopause for hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and preventing osteoporosis.

For this, a tincture would be preferable. The monograph from the campus suggests a weekly dose of 25 – 50mL per week of 1:3 tincture. I’d say, start on the lower end of this.

When using red clover as a nourishing, detoxifying herb, an infusion is best.

Sage can also be helpful for hot flushes! A hot infusion can be made and then chilled and consumed before bed.
