Hi!

I am making tinctures from dandelion and I was wondering what process is best for the various parts of the plant.

Roots: I have tried the folk method as suggested on one of the links that was recommended in the messages above, they suggested filling 1/3 full and then topping up the jar with 40% alchol. I am worried that this will not be concentrated enough. Also do the roots need to be peeled? The roots seem very small and I am thinking that I will harvest some more in a few weeks when the roots get a bit larger. Are dandelion roots every extracted in glycerite? It may be nice given the bitter nature of the root. Plus it would take less time to extract.

Leaves: Would a ginger, mint, dandelion leaf tea make sense or would this be too tough on the digestive system? Are tinctures done from dandelion leaves?

Flower heads: Are the heads of the dandelion beneficial for the system other than from their nutrient content? I have dried a huge batch and have read that they are good in oil form (lotion bars) for skin lesions but I do not believe this was discussed in the course. I would plan to make an infused oil but I was wondering if a tincture would be an option for a specific indication.

Thank you so much!
