Hi Stephanie,
We’re so glad to hear that you are making (and selling!) some oils!
Here are some thoughts and plans in terms of the cloudiness.
1. Have you smelled the oil? Is it going rancid? If so, next time you are making the oil, be very cautious and aware of any source of water that may be getting into the oil, especially the sneaky water (in fresh plants). Make sure to decant your oil at least once to get rid of any water.
2.Are you straining it through a fine enough cloth/filter? It may be that there are little particles of plant matter left in the oil and there are microbes building up on these. Maybe try filtering more than once, and you can do the decanting process as well.
3. Did you use olive oil and are these being kept in the fridge? Sometimes certain oils can go cloudy or thicker when put in the fridge (olive oil does this often). It’s totally fine in this case, nothing needs to be done necessarily.
4. You could add vitamin E oil or some essential oils to help with preservation value if after considering the above, you feel like it needs extra preservation!
I hope this helps!
Warmly,
Benna
