Hello, I tried to make the facial lotion and had a few things come up.
1 – First off I didn’t have Lanette wax and couldn’t source it on time for my project so I used “SZ Emulwax” (poly 60) instead.
2- Attempted to infuse bee propolis into jojoba oil. (I was able to dissolve most of the propolis into oil and strained it, and measured before making this project. — It did sort of granulate a little once being re-heated on stove with other ingredients).
3 – I also used soy butter instead of shea.
4 – I halved the recipe because I didn’t want to make too much in case it didn’t work out the first try.
End result: Very Watery, smells amazing, colour is honey like and gorgeous; the main issue is that it is extremely watery as the end result. Do you think on the next try I should use a bit more poly 60, or should I add a bit less of the water/hydrosol blend to the oil blend? It never seemed to thicken, just changed colour. Or should I have left it on the stove longer to thicken?
Thank you!
Mary
