Hi Nancy, this is a great question – many people can’t handle eating raw garlic.
In David’s course notes, he lists two herbs for the weeding section: garlic and Oregon grape (Mahonia spp.). So for this person you have in mind, I suggest sticking to just the Oregon grape – it acts as an antimicrobial in the gut and, encourages the regeneration of the lining of the mucosal membranes in the gut which supports the microflora balance and supports nutrient absorption.
This person could also try dried garlic powder in small amounts. Some people who can’t handle the fresh garlic do just fine with the powder. This comes in loose form and also, inside capsules.
