Hi Eva,

Plant material can sit in a tincture for a long time. This only becomes an issue if you start using the alcohol from the tincture and the liquid level dips below the plant material, exposing it to air. This could cause mould to form though unlikely, as the alcohol is such a strong preservative. Your tincture of 4 months will still be good to use! It may be strong, but you can always dilute it when taking it.

For the mouthwash tincture, I wouldn’t recommend using that formula every day but up to 2 times per week sounds good as a preventative measure. Alternatively, you could use a more gentle version more often. For more regular use, I’d take out the cayenne and tea tree and use an amount on the lower end of the dose range diluted in water.
