Hey Aimee, you can tell it’s a wet cough if you hear or feel mucus or, you’re coughing it up. If the cough is mild and then goes away, I don’t think it’s anything to be too concerned about. I know you said you only have the cough on mornings after taking the tea but I’m wondering if there could be other contributing factors. Some ideas/thoughts below:
-You could try swapping out the mullein for a different respiratory support herb such as plantain or Colt’s foot (Tussilago farfara) which is a lung tonic like mullein.
-Some morning coughs can be due to allergies in your environment or foods such as dairy.
-I believe you’re in a fairly dry environment? A humidifier in the bedroom could be worth considering.
In the morning, drink plenty of water. If you are coughing up mucus, keep in mind that green or yellow mucus can often be a sign of an infection, and would require you get additional help. Keep me in the loop about this!
