People with gout should consider stopping the consumption of edible mushrooms. Many medicinal mushroom fruiting bodies are taken in such small amounts that they are probably of no real concern. In fact, Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus) is widely used in Latvia and Austria for gout, called Podagra (gout) morel.
