Hi everyone! It’s a pleasure to read your stories and to begin to create connections with you here.
My name is Emily. I grew up in rural southern Ontario, on Lake Huron, and moved to BC for the first time in 2009. After many years of going back and forth between Ontario and BC to complete my degree in Environmental Sciences, I moved to Vancouver Island permanently in 2013, and now reside on Northern Vancouver Island.
Having worked with some amazing people over the years, understanding my body and working on my personal well being and healing, I had been looking at a way in which I could contribute to the well-being and healing of others, while staying true to who I am. After much searching, my love of all things nature seemed like the perfect fit for a plant based course that is the Community Herbalist Program! My relationship with plants comes from a scientific background, but also one of appreciation and love. I am so excited about this course and ready to dive into, what I now realize will be a life-long journey, learning about herbal medicine and therapeutics.
