Thanks Benna. I guess that makes sense that practitioners have access to more therapeutic grade base creams.
When I’ve gone beyond about the 2:1 ratio, it all just looks curdled (the best word I can find to describe it but I’m sure you know what I mean). I feel there’s just not enough emulsifier in there to capture the oil and make it a smooth cream. Adding some wax helps, but then I want a cream not a more solid salve-like substance. I’ve been testing out my 2:1 with my infused oils and though it’s quite oily, it’s at least not curdled looking and I just apply it more liberally to get more oil on the skin.
All in all, between your reassurance about the 2:1, the ability to just apply more of it and the fact I can get 2:1 without it being curdled-looking, I feel better about not being able to get as high a ratio as in the course. I guess as has often be said in the course….experiment!
