Thank you for all your answers, so far.
In the Pre-Study Mock Exam – question 108 – We are asked to choose the best points for Spleen Qi Deficiency, based on 5-element Theory.
This theory wasn’t taught much in my school, but I worked hard to learn the 3-needle and 4-needle techniques that you taught in the bootcamp. However, neither of these techniques applies to this situation – nor are reflected in the answer. I guessed and got it right, but I don’t understand the theory because I have no foundation for this point selection method.
The answer says: Correct! The answer is SP 3 (Taibai), HT 7 (Shenmen). This is classic Spleen Qi Deficiency.
SP 3 (Taibai) is the source point, and therefore best point to tonify. HT 7 (Shenmen) is the Earth point on Fire, which is the mother point, therefore also great to tonify the Spleen!
Can you please point me to a resource that explains why this is correct? As I said, it doesn’t fit any of the examples you’ve offered in the bootcamp, so I’m at a loss as to how to understand how the 5-element theory is being applied, here.
thanks!
