Hello everyone, my name is Shae. I recently moved across Canada to Halifax without ever being here before. I have lived in BC my whole life, grew up outside of Vancouver, studied my kinesiology undergraduate in Victoria and have spent the last 3 years in Tofino.
Since graduating during COVID times I took the lack of job opportunities as a chance to go explore the world. I travelled to Costa Rica for 3 months to get my diving certificates, backpacked around the pacific coast of Mexico and just recently spent 6 weeks solo travelling to six countries in Europe.
Since graduation I have been working as a server in seasonal towns. Now having moved to a city I am in a spot where I want to get reconnected to my passions. I completed an internship with Food Share Network during my final year of my undergraduate program, where I found a passion for food security. I am someone who gardens yearly, although not super experienced I strive to grow medicinal herbs and flowers that I can incorporate in food and drinks. I want to gain experience in permaculture, holistic nutrition and now herbalism and hope these will lead me on a path to a further career.
