Hello, I followed Michael Moore’s intermediary method for calendula oil using dried flowers. I combined 30g calendula with 15ml of 70% alcohol and macerated for 6 hours. Then, I added 210 ml sweet almond oil (1:7 ratio) and heated the mixture on my wood stove for 24 hours (40-70°C), stirring the herbs 4 times during the process. After straining, the oil has a great color but retains a noticeable alcohol scent. Seraphina’s video mentioned the alcohol should evaporate and there should be no alcohol smell. Should I leave the strained oil uncovered to encourage further evaporation? Any other suggestions?
Thanks and have a great day !
