I’m having trouble getting any heat from my homemade cayenne oil. I used 2 tablespoons of cayenne powder (19,000-25,000 SHU) in 1 cup of almond oil, warmed on my wood stove for 24 hours.(between 40-70 Celsius) After that, no noticeable heat, I added another 4 tablespoons and infused for another 24 hours, but still nothing. Is my powder-to-oil ratio off? Or do I need a higher SHU cayenne? Any suggestions?
Also, what would be the maximum time to heat an oil?
