Hello from Strathroy Ontario (about 2 hours west of Toronto).
My day job is raising money and grant-writing for a small local not-for-profit, and being with nature and the garden is my happy place.
I became a Master Gardener a few years back and then carried on to receive my Horticulturalist certificate from the University of Guelph. As an avid gardener who grows food from seed each year, I needed a better understanding of plants, growth, disease, etc.
I’ve always been curious about herbal medicine and plants, but uncertain as to what to do with them, beyond the classic herbs we cook with.
Wiarton Willie – the Ontario groundhog told us we’re having an early spring here, so my seeds are all on order and I’m planning both an herbal medicine garden and a herbal kitchen one this year. This program will certainly offer the knowledge and confidence to continue to make herbal living part of what we do every day.
