For bigger more broad range, I like Harmonic Arts-top, Apotheka Herbs-top, Richters, Herbs Organic Connections and Golden Bough.
Otherwise I look for local first- e.g. here in Nova Scotia we are lucky enough to have one or two growers that are very small and have great ethics. It would be worth having a look to see if you can find small local herb growers close to you via the internet or your local herbalist association.
