No. Most distal acupoints are used based on their groupings and what they affect. For example:

When you look at the points in these groups, you’ll see that many of them are distal (far away / on the arms or legs) from the chief concern they treat.

An example could be a frontal headache due to constipation (and let’s say the constipation is due to Yin Deficiency):
1. Local: GB14
2. Adjacent: Yintang, DU24, GB20
3. Root: KD6, ST25, REN/CV6, REN/CV4
4. Distal: LI4 (distal for frontal headache – Key/Command for head and face), ST36 (distal for abdomen — Key/Command for Abdomen), GB34 (distal — Influential of tendon for skin/muscle/tendon concerns), SJ/TW6 – (distal — no category but moves Qi in the Lower Warmer, pairs with KD6 for constipation)
