Prestudy mock exam: Q 101

Susan has been suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia for more than a decade. After many treatments she only had marginal improvement.

Patient Information:

pain alternated between being sharp and dull
the pain was located on the head, orbital area and jowl
poor appetite
deteriorated vision
bitter taste
dry throat
dizziness
tinnitus
irritability
palpitations
cold hands and feet
hot palms
Tongue: Thin white coat
Pulse: Deep (Chen), Choppy (Se) and Wiry (Xuan)
This patient can be diagnosed as having:

Answer was Liver Qi Stagnation with Spleen Qi Deficiency causing Blood Deficiency

I was tossing up between the correct answer and with LV yang rising but went with LV yang rising in the end as LV yang rising normally has some underlaying yin and blood def signs according to our textbook (dull pain, hot palms, choppy pulse). And besides having a poor appetite I didn’t see much spleen signs. I understand that there was deficient signs in this case but can you elaborate on this one please?

But my main question is for Q 102: Which treatment strategy would you use for the case in the previous question?

Correct answer shows green on LR 3 (Taichong), LI 4 (Hegu), ST 36 (ZSL), SP 6 (SYJ), M-HN-9 (Taiyang) but the written explainion says the correct answer is LR 2, LI 4 (Hegu), GB 43 (Xiaxi), M-HN-9 (Taiyang).

Which one is it meant to be, i think this may be an error?

Thank you!
