I do not know for sure so did a quick bit of researching on Crataegus azarolus. It seems to me that there is a high possibility that Mediterranean Hawthorn has the cardiotonic actions of other Crataegus species (oxycantha, monogyna etc.) but there isn’t a lot of information on it. I would certainly say it is likely just as safe as the other Crataegus spp. we just don’t know the potency differences or comparability.
