1.My best advice would be to look locally to you for good beeswax. Look in your local health food store, farmers market, online, newspaper etc. I’m sure you’ll find someone who knows someone, if not the Apiarist (beekeeper). This is the best way to find some happy bees.
2. Yes! This is a great question as it is tricky! Scrape what you can off the jug or surface, then pour boiling water from your kettle over it. It has to be boiling or it’s just not hot enough, I find. I also have dedicated beeswax/salve tools and utensils, which helps but that trick should work.
