Hi Shirley,

Absolutely.

1. 90% is the strength of the alcohol used to extract the calendula tincture. So you would be using 90% alcohol (not 90 proof) tincture of calendula in the tincture formula or that cream formula.

2. I have just done some researching for whether Greek sage (Salvia fruticosa) has the same actions as Sage (Salvia officinalis) in terms of hot flashes and safety and it’s hard to say. I’ve not found any specific note of hot flashes on a quick search, but have seen anti-hydrotic (anti-sweat). This doe snot necessarily mean hot flash reduction though as this action is proposed to occurs through hormone shifting. This is not to say Salvia fruticosa does not have hot flash reduction action, but also just because it is a sage and in the Salvia genus, doesn’t mean that it is effective to reduce hot flashes.
What you could to though is head to the grocery store or a garden store and buy some Salvia officinalis in bundles or as a plant, dry and powder into capsules. This would save you some money for sure. Then you also know your dosage.

With warmth,
Benna
