I have a question about making tinctures. With the mouthwash tincture in Lesson 5 it mentions a 5 ml of calendula 90%.
From what I understand you are looking to have a weight:volume where you have 1 part plant material to 2 parts alcohol, using a 45% vodka or brandy. What is the 90% referring to?
I also am reading that you can add more alcohol if you can’t cover the plant material. How do you adjust the formula if you do that? How do you check the potency of your tincture?
