Since rose petals are so delicate, another way you could try, if you end up starting from scratch, is to place your rose petals (fresh) in the blender with the oil, blend them up together, pour into a jar and cap the jar.
Boil water in a pot, turn it off and submerge the rose oil jar in this water for 15-20 minutes (making sure no water gets into the jar). Remove and let this stand in a warm area of your house for 24-28 hours more and then check on it. This should smell wonderful.
Strain the oil, let it stand for at least 12 hours and decant it to separate any water or debris left at the bottom, then bottle and store.
Another option again is to use the pre-maceration with alcohol method.
