Hi Fara,

It may be challenging to tell the exact species of rose if you’re new to plant identification and it’s not in flower, but I suggest you just do your best. I recommend researching some of the wild rose species in your area, and looking at the bush’s leaf structure and thorns to see if you can match it. You will need to mention it’s scientific name in your assignment, at least saying it’s Rosa spp. (meaning the species isn’t clear, or it could be more than one). However, I also suggest including a species name, even if you’re not positive, and mentioning that!
