Hi Kathy,
As far as I know Paul’s Scarlet is still a Crataegus laevigata species, just a different varietal that has been bred to have the pink aspect of hawthorn flowers dominant. I think if should still be great to use as a tea as long as there hasn’t been any herbicide or pesticides used in the area.
