Hi Tina,
We are so glad that you are enjoying the course so much. 🙂
There are the main herbs that are/could be contraindicated with Warfarin, thank you for checking on this. Below is a list with notes on which ones are speculative (meaning that it would seem as though there might be contraindications due to Warfarin and the plants actions but there have not actually been any reported cases of concern in humans). This may not cover every single plant, so I would recommend a quick search first.
Dan Shen (Salvia miltiorrhiza)
Devils Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens)
Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis)
Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenum)- speculative
Garlic (Alium sativum) – higher dose therapeutic use
Ginger (Zingiber officinalis) – speculative
Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba)
Asian and American Ginseng (Panax ginseng & americana)
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)- speculative
Pau D’arco (Tabebuia impetigenosa) -speculative
Red Clover, sweet clover, alfalfa, sweet woodruff, horse chesnut, chamomile… – all speculative regarding coumarin-like compounds
St. Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Cranberry
Quinine (Cinchona spp.)
Most/All sedative and nervine herbs are not on this list so that is good news for a sleep formula!
Warmly,
Benna
