Hi my name is Iris, I would like to introduce myself, as a geriatric nurse, I worked in nursing home for handicapped adults, home care, nursing homes and hospice. I am German, 57 years old and I am married here in Courtenay BC on the beautiful Vancouver Island, I am a mother of two adult kids and a proud grandma (Oma). I came to Canada 2017. I don’t have a license to work as a nurse here in Canada. The last 5 years I worked as a home support worker and had and have lovely employees (clients). I love my job and my clients, but falling in love with clients and there family and be a part of the family comes with grief too, that brought me to the decision back to school and do something different and be able to help others. Would like to start after my current job will be finished.
I am enjoying the community herbalist program, but English is my second language and that is a huge challenge.
