Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful time of year, and connecting with plants as much as I am. I’m nearing the end of my course, and I’ve loved every unit and connecting on here and in the (one!) virtual meet-up I was able to attend. I thought I would share some projects I’ve been working on, that were inspired by and aligned with this course. A friend and I have been using plant essences from plants we’ve grown and foraged to infuse local wool with natural colour, and then wet felted the wool together using Lake Ontario water, into large-scale wool installations. The first one we did was called ‘Lake Blue’, for the 2022 Design Toronto Festival. I just thought it might be fun to share here, as this course has been such a nice complement and inspiration for this project.
