Course description

This course will introduce the energetic Ayurvedic model of medicine. You will learn about the history of Ayurveda, key terms and theories, the tridoshas and gunas, how to recognize one’s constitutional dosha, how to make lifestyle suggestions for dosha imbalances, and how to use foods to balance.

At the end of this course, you’ll watch a complete patient assessment to see an example of an informal intake, including an assessment and the offering of nutritional recommendations.

By the end of this course, you will feel confident in assessing doshas and tendencies and applying Ayurvedic energetics concepts to support loved ones.

Upon completion of this course,  you will have the ability to:

  • Understand the basic concepts of Ayurveda and apply them to your life.
  • Identify the constitutional aspects of yourself or others, using the doshas.
  • Recognize general dosha imbalances, and be able to select the appropriate nutritional and lifestyle modifications.
  • Recognize the importance of constitutional medicine, seasonal eating, and how to honour the life phases of the body with Ayurvedic practices.
